Disney+ Now Selected to Host 5 Sony Spider-Man Movies

The incorporation of Marvel’s Spider-Man into the Disney+ streaming service has excited many fans of the web slinging superhero. Tobey Maguire’s trilogy of “Spider-Man,” “Spider-Man 2” and “Spider-Man 3” will be available on the platform tomorrow, followed by Andrew Garfield’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” on May 12th. Tom Holland’s installment in the series, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” will arrive on July 5th while Tom Hardy stars in Sony Pictures’ upcoming film, Venom. This influx of renewed interest in Marvel and Spider Man is sure to get kids exploring their comic book collections once again!

Disney is releasing three new movies featuring Marvel superheroes, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. This is a welcome addition to the streaming service that already has vast majority of Marvel movies. These new releases will provide fan with additional content to watch and will give them a chance to see these characters in different settings.

Sony Pictures owns the rights to Spider-Man and has released multiple films with the character over the years. Disney+ is likely to include some of Sony Pictures’ other films in its library when it launches later this year, including titles from Spider-Man’s film and television library.

Disney+ will offer viewers a unique, immersive experience with exclusive content not available anywhere else. This deal between Sony and Disney+ will give movie-goers the ability to watch all their favorite Hollywood blockbusters on one platform, as well as new and original titles that can’t be found anywhere else.
