“Unleashing the Power of AI: Indeed’s Innovative Work Experience Writer and Multi-Resume Support”

Hiring portal Indeed has redesigned the profile page for users, allowing individuals to use an AI-powered writer to fill up work experience and also added support for multiple resumes. The company has also launched a set of smart sourcing suites for recruiters with features like AI-powered candidate summaries and custom messages. The new AI-powered work experience writer helps people form better descriptions of different projects. The job seeking portal already had a toggle to make a user’s profile visible to recruiters. Indeed is also adding AI-powered smart messaging and automated interview scheduling.

Hiring portal Indeed has given a facelift to its profile page, catering to the needs and desires of its users. With the new AI-powered writer, individuals now have the ability to effortlessly enhance their work experience and showcase their skills in a more compelling manner. This update also brings in support for multiple resumes, allowing job seekers to tailor their resumes for different positions.

The company, owned by Recruiter Holdings, is striving to stay ahead in the competitive recruitment market by introducing AI-aided features. This move will help Indeed compete with its counterparts such as LinkedIn, Talent.com, and ZipRecruiter. The new AI-powered work experience writer assists users in crafting more detailed and well-crafted descriptions of their past projects, ultimately making their profile stand out.

In addition to these updates, Indeed will also be rolling out the ability to save up to five resumes per individual. This will make it easier for job seekers to quickly pick the most relevant resume when applying for different roles. According to Indeed, these updates will be available soon.

The company is also adding a new feature to make profiles visible to recruiters by default. This feature can be easily accessed through the settings page, making it easier for recruiters to discover potential candidates.

On the other hand, to streamline the recruitment process and reduce what they call “irrelevant outreach,” Indeed has introduced a smart sourcing suite for hiring managers. This suite includes advanced search filters and AI-powered candidate summaries, helping recruiters find the most suitable candidates for the job.

The new suite also includes an AI-powered smart messaging tool, enabling hiring managers to create and modify communication with potential job seekers. According to the company, during the testing phase, recruiters using the smart sourcing feature saved up to six hours per week.

When asked about the potential biases and how they ensure that the AI-powered summaries do not miss out on crucial details, Deepti Patibandla, the Senior Director of Product at Indeed, explained that they have a responsible AI team in place to prevent any harm.

Indeed’s biggest rival, LinkedIn, has also incorporated AI into various aspects, including learning, recruitment, marketing, sales, messaging, and profile enhancement.

During a phone call with TechCrunch, Deepti Patibandla emphasized the company’s main goal of helping people get hired. She stated, “At Indeed, we want to get more people hired, and that is the core value of our business. Our focus remains on making the hiring process more efficient and ensuring that people find the right jobs for them.”

Last year, Indeed announced a layoff of 2,200 employees, which accounted for 15% of its total workforce. At that time, CEO Chris Hyams stated that the company was simply too big for the upcoming challenges.

“We want to make sure that people are getting the right jobs and not getting inundated by random jobs. Those two are our main focal points for now. In the long term, we see an opportunity for users to come to Indeed and set their career trajectory path,” said Deepti Patibandla.
