A year after announcing its own lineup of Roku-branded TVs, the hardware company revealed today a new range of high-end televisions. Roku also introduced Roku Smart Picture, an AI-powered feature that automatically adjusts picture and audio quality.
The Roku Pro Series TVs boast a sleek and thin design compared to its Roku Select and Plus Series counterparts, featuring a wall mount for a streamlined look. Additionally, the new TVs are equipped with 4K QLED screens and mini-LED technology for enhanced picture quality and local dimming. According to the company, these TVs also offer upgraded audio for a “wide cinematic sound.”
Roku’s latest product line will be available to U.S. customers in the spring of this year. The new TVs will come in three sizes – 55 inches, 65 inches, and 75 inches – with a price range of less than $1,500, a slight increase from the previous $999 model.
In addition to the new TVs, Roku Smart Picture is set to debut in the spring of 2024 as a new feature on the Roku TV program. It utilizes AI technology, machine learning, and data from content partners to optimize the viewing experience. By analyzing the type of content being displayed, Roku Smart Picture adjusts the TV settings to deliver the best presentation possible. This feature will be available on all Roku TV models.
Today’s announcement comes shortly after Roku’s quarterly earnings report in November, which exhibited strong revenue growth of 20% year over year. The company attributed this increase to the sales of Roku Select and Plus Series TVs, as well as revenue from video advertising and content distribution. Roku’s total net revenue for the period was $912 million, a significant jump from the previous $761 million.
Roku is scheduled to speak at the CES technology conference on Wednesday, January 10.
