Pinterest has officially introduced its latest feature, the ‘body type ranges’ tool, to users in the United States. This exciting announcement comes after the platform’s success in testing the tool last year and currently in Canada.

As part of today’s launch, Pinterest now features size-inclusive brands on its search landing page, including top names like Eloquii, Ganni, Mara Hoffman, Osei Duro, Gia / Irl, and more.

To utilize this feature, Pinterest users can simply type into the search bar and select the “Body Types” option to see four different body types displayed at the top of the results page. And, to make it even more convenient, users can save their preferred body type selection on their device with just a double click.

The success of this feature has been evident in the results, as Pinterest’s chief product officer Sabrina Ellis shares that users who have used the tool experienced a 66% higher engagement rate per session.

At the moment, the body type ranges feature is only applicable to women’s fashion and wedding ideas. However, Pinterest has plans to expand its reach to men’s fashion later this year.

With the help of its patent-pending computer vision technology, Pinterest is able to identify various body types using shape, size, and form across its extensive library of over 3.5 billion images. This inclusive tool is coupled with others such as skin tone ranges and hair patterns to ensure every user feels represented on the platform.
