Boeing operates an innovation acceleration programme aimed at startup’s called Aerospace Xelerated, formerly known as the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI). It is also surrounding by a large ecosystem of aerospace startups that engage with the company. TechCrunch has reached out to Aerospace Xelerated for comment. In a company statement, Calhoun said he planned to “complete the critical work underway to stabilize and position the company for the future” over the coming months.

Verma plans to launch his own venture firm, with the inaugural fund expected to have a corpus of at least $150 million, a source familiar with the matter said. The timing of his departure is also peculiar as Nexus raised a $700 million fund, its largest, just last year. Verma has been working with his portfolio startups to hand over board seats to other partners at Nexus for several months, the source said, requesting anonymity. Verma plans to launch his own fund by the end of the year where he plans to adopt a strategy that sets him apart from other investment firms in India.

The affected divisions include voice-activated Google Assistant as part of the knowledge and information product team restructuring; and the Devices and Services PA (DSPA) team that manages Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit hardware. Some teams are continuing to make these kinds of organizational changes, which include some role eliminations globally,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement. The report also mentioned that Google will now have one core hardware engineering team instead of separate teams working on Pixel, Fitbit, and Nest. Separately, the company has also let go of people working on the Google Assistant team, as reported by Semafor. Last year, Google had rolling layoffs in different teams including the Waze mapping service in June, its recruiting team in September, and its news division in October.
