Oura’s Launch of a Fresh Labs Section for Experimenting with Innovative Features

Smart ring manufacturer Oura is introducing a new section in its app called Oura Labs to test out new features and get user feedback. Oura said that Symptom Radar will monitor biometric signals such as body temperature range, respiratory rate, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability. “Oura Labs is our approach to recreate internal engagement for new features with users in a structured and formal way. Users will get to see a lot of early-stage ideas in Oura Labs,” Patel said. Users can provide direct feedback about these experimental features along with general feedback for the product through Oura Labs.

Selling Oura Products on Amazon

Smart fitness ring maker Oura announced a partnership with Amazon today to sell its products through the e-commerce site. The Heritage ring starts from $299 and the Horizon ring starts from $399. The most distinctive difference between the two is that Heritage rings have a flat top and Horizon rings don’t have that. Since Oura launched the Oura Ring 3, India-based startup Ultrahuman released two rings including Ultrahuman Air last year. Last year, Oura launched the Circles feature to encourage users to share their stats with friends and family.

Samsung introduces smart ring with sleep-enhancing capabilities

After a brief tease at the end of its big Galaxy S24 event earlier this month, Samsung officially debuted the Galaxy Ring this morning at MWC. Circular cofounder and CEO Amaury Kosman stated, “We’re really pleased that Samsung has announced that it will be bringing the Samsung Galaxy Ring to market later this year. The company isn’t a household name, but it’s big enough to effectively be synonymous with the smart ring category for many consumers. While the Galaxy Ring appeared on the MWC floor today, we’re still waiting for a lot here with regards to specifics. Samsung could also lean into sleep tracking, suggesting users wear the Watch all day and sleep with the Ring on.
