Upgraded Earbuds Make ChatGPT Easily Accessible with a Simple Squeeze

The most notable bit of today’s news, however, is probably Nothing’s embrace of ChatGPT this time out. Think Siri/Google Assistant/Alexa-style access on a pair of earbuds, only this one taps directly into OpenAI’s wildly popular platform. Nothing says the Ear buds bring improved sound over their predecessors, courtesy of a new driver system. A “smart” active noise-canceling system adapts accordingly to environmental noise and checks for “leakage” between the buds and the ear canal. The Ear and Ear (a) are both reasonably priced at $149 and $99, respectively.

“Angel Matchmaking: Cherub’s Innovative Platform for Investors and Founders to Connect and Thrive Together”

Today they are the co-founders of Cherub, a marketplace that pairs angel investors with entrepreneurs. Johnson likens Los Angeles-based Cherub to Raya, an online membership-based community for dating, in that it matches founders and angel investors based on their preferences. Or if an entrepreneur’s minimum investment is $25,000 but an angel investor is only investing $10,000 per deal, they can see that and not reach out to connect. Of those deals, 40% were new angel investors, meaning they were accredited investors that had never written checks before. Angel investor Allen Orr told TechCrunch that he had used other platforms such as AngelList in the past.

Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to take Verve Motion’s SafeLift Exosuit for a spin. You put it on over your shoulders and then snap yourself in with a pair of chest straps. Next, another pair of soft straps are stretched around your thighs and Velcro-ed in place. The thigh straps are connected to a pair of soft fabric cables that retract into the backpack with a bit of a yank. Verve Motion sells SafeLift as part of a larger system featuring a wall of lockers/cubby holes used to store and charge the exosuits.

“Shure Ventures into Wireless Lavalier Microphone Market”

The category has seen success and has accordingly gone from one or two competitors to around a dozen. Shure, on the other hand, makes some of the most beloved microphones across multiple industries. The category has been hit or miss lately, so I’m excited to see what Shure has on offer here. The mics pair to a phone without needing the receiver. Also, one key thing the DJI unit has that these don’t is the ability to plug a wired lav mic directly into the clip-on, making it more camera-ready.

Battery continues to be the lowest hanging fruit in the smartwatch world. Like the Apple Watch, OnePlus’ Watch 2 has a Power Saving Mode. The company notes,WearOS apps and the Always On Display will not work when the device is in Power Saving Mode. Farewell of Dextrous Robotics: An End to an Era

Memphis-based Dextrous Robotics is calling it a day. The news, noted by the Robot Report, was confirmed by the warehouse robotics firm’s CEO, Evan Drumwright, on LinkedIn. Last year, Dextrous made headlines for its novel approach to truck unloading. The titular dexterity (not to be confused with fellow truck unloading robot firm Dexterity AI) allows the system to approach boxes from a variety of vantage points and angles. “We started Dextrous Robotics four years ago to organize our world with machines and focused on automating one of the most dangerous tasks in the industrialized world,” says Drumwright.
