Reddit has made a major announcement today, revealing the introduction of a new suite of tools called Reddit Pro. This is a big move for the company, especially considering that it is currently in the process of preparing for its IPO launch.
The launch of Reddit Pro is aimed at helping businesses build a strong presence on the platform without relying on paid advertising. By offering this suite of free tools, Reddit hopes to attract more brands to the platform and potentially convert them into paying advertisers in the future.
The beta version of Reddit Pro features an interface with various tools, including AI-powered insights that highlight trending topics and relevant conversations specific to each brand. The purpose of these insights is to help businesses connect with both new and existing audiences through meaningful interactions. Additionally, these insights can also inform the way brands are perceived on Reddit.
Moreover, businesses will have access to publishing tools that assist in drafting and scheduling public posts. According to the company, these tools will guide brands in taking the necessary steps to join Reddit’s communities. Furthermore, Reddit Pro comes with performance analytics, allowing businesses to track the engagement and progress of their organic posts through a dedicated Pro dashboard.
In addition to these features, Reddit Pro also enables businesses to promote their posts as paid advertisements directly through the platform, without the need to use external services. All they have to do is click the “promote” button on their chosen post, and it will be displayed to a wider audience.
Reddit reports that over 200 businesses have already signed up for Reddit Pro, including well-known names like Taco Bell, Wendy’s, the NFL, The Wall Street Journal, Kate Somerville, and Atlas Headrest. In early testing, it was revealed that brands using Reddit Pro posted an average of 11 additional posts and comments per month and witnessed a 35% increase in monthly upvotes on their organic content.
“Through Reddit Pro, we’re connecting companies with communities in a mutually valuable way: unmatched insights and tools for enhanced participation from businesses, both organic and paid, which then drives more relevant and valuable experiences for our users,” said Reddit Chief Marketing and Consumer Experience Officer Roxy Young in the company’s announcement post.
Reddit Pro is currently available to businesses and organizations on a first-come, first-served basis. The company has also announced plans to launch additional features throughout the year, but has not yet shared any specifics about what those features may entail. It seems that Reddit is determined to continuously improve its platform and provide businesses with valuable tools to thrive and succeed on the site.
