Three things to love about Protecto’s pitch deck
While there are certainly some aspects missing from this deck, there are also some strong points to highlight.
Competitive alternatives
This slide effectively showcases the importance of understanding and analyzing competitive alternatives in the market, even without directly naming direct competitors. It demonstrates the potential for differentiation and identifies unmet customer needs.
Competitive alternatives refer to businesses, methods, or approaches that satisfy the same customer needs or solve the same problems as yours. For example, a coffee shop’s competitive alternatives could include a teahouse or a fast-food restaurant that also sells coffee.
Protecto could have included direct competitors, but this slide still effectively showcases their position in the market.
Helloooo, team
This team slide is particularly strong, despite being placed near the end of the deck. It highlights key team members and their impressive backgrounds.
The CEO has almost eight years of experience at Microsoft, including work in search and AI. The CTO also has a strong background, spending seven years at Apple India. While the slide could benefit from more specific details, it effectively showcases a strong and experienced team.

Protecto does an excellent job of simplifying the complex topics of privacy and AI, making it easier for a wider audience to understand.
Three things that Protecto could have improved
While there are some strong elements, there are also some significant flaws hidden within the pitch deck.

Protecto has two slides titled “case studies,” but they are actually just use cases. A true case study would provide much more detail, such as success metrics and customer satisfaction.
The headline of a slide should be a promise for what the rest of the slide will deliver, but in this case, the slides fall short of that promise. Proper case studies could have greatly improved the storytelling of the deck.
Subpar “use of funds” slide
The slide detailing the use of funds lacks important information and consists of mostly corporate jargon. It’s unclear how the company plans to use the funds and how they will measure success.
Additionally, the lack of details and specificity in the go-to-market plan makes it difficult for investors to fully understand and evaluate the company. It’s important to show how these plans and projections were developed to provide additional insight into the company’s thinking and potential for success.
Missing elements in the deck
Overall, the pitch deck is lacking crucial information that would help convey why this problem is difficult to solve and why Protecto is positioned to solve it.
