The latest version is MacOS Sequoia. Notifications on Mac bring up iPhone mirror mode, and iPhone audio comes through the Mac as well — but the paired iPhone stays locked. Elsewhere, MacOS Sequoia introduces automatic window tiling, and a presenter preview mode for video conferencing with a built-in background replacement. On the gaming front, Apple announced Game Porting Toolkit 2, the newest version of its game porting toolkit. The MacOS Sequoia beta will be available this month, with final releases to come this fall.

The highly anticipated WWDC 2024 event in Cupertino brought some exciting updates for MacOS, including the latest and greatest version – MacOS Sequoia.

One of the most prominent features is iPhone mirroring, allowing users to easily mirror their iPhone’s screen onto their Mac laptop or desktop through MacOS’ Continuity feature. This also enables users to control their iPhone directly from their Mac. Notifications on Mac will automatically trigger iPhone mirror mode, and audio from the iPhone will play through the Mac. However, the paired iPhone will remain locked for added security.

In addition, MacOS Sequoia introduces a new automatic window tiling feature, making it easier to manage multiple windows and applications. The presenter preview mode is perfect for video conferencing, with its built-in background replacement feature. Also included in the update is an enhanced Keychain, including the new Passwords app that is compatible with both Mac and other platforms, making it easier to manage credentials.

As for the web browser Safari, it has received some exciting new features as well. The new highlights feature utilizes AI to detect interesting content on web pages and present it with a single click. AI-powered summaries and tables of contents are now available in Reader mode. And for a more immersive experience, the Viewer option brings videos to the forefront with system video controls.

For gamers, Apple introduced the Game Porting Toolkit 2, the newest version of their game porting toolkit. It boasts improved Windows compatibility and useful debugging tools for a seamless gaming experience on Mac.

The beta version of MacOS Sequoia will be available this month, with the final release scheduled for this fall. Keep an eye out for these exciting updates to enhance your MacOS experience!
