Cruise is redeploying robotaxis in Phoenix after nearly five months of paused operations, the company said in a blog post.
Cruise will resume manual driving of its autonomous vehicles to create maps and gather road information in certain cities, starting with Phoenix, the company said Tuesday.
Cruise has not announced when or where it will resume driverless operations.
The company’s main operations were historically based in San Francisco, but Cruise lost its permits to operate there following the accident.
Cruise began expanding its paid service area in the Phoenix area in August 2023.
When a hacker called the company that his gang claimed to breach, he felt the same way that most of us feel when calling the front desk: frustrated.
The recording also shows how ransomware gangs are always looking for different ways to intimidate the companies they hack.
I’m just trying to help you,” the hacker responds, growing increasingly frustrated.
“So is that Dragonforce.com?”The hacker then threatens Beth, saying they will start calling the company’s clients, employees and partners.
“Excuse me?” the hacker responds.
I was happy — excited, even — to check out Shure’s latest USB microphone.
Its predecessor, the MV7, has been my default podcasting mic since it was launched toward to end of 2022.
If you’ve asked me at some point over the past year and a half to recommend a USB mic, I likely suggested its predecessor.
As for sound, I’ve been quite pleased with the MV7+.
It’s pricey compared to other USB mics, but it’s hard to beat out of the box.

Family location services company Life360 has launched a new notification for its apps to automatically alert friends and family when you reach a destination after taking a flight.
Life360 said that the feature uses phone sensors to measure location, altitude and speed to determine if you are taking a flight.
Plus, its algorithms can detect takeoff and landing times, and alert family members when you connect to the network post-landing.
The company said the landing notification feature is a useful alternative to online flight trackers or waiting for the traveler to send updates to their circle.
The company’s CEO Chris Hulls told TechCrunch that the company wants to focus on safety and protection updates for users’ inner circle.
The company has bought Searchlight, a startup and recruitment platform that uses artificial intelligence-based technology to source talent.
The plan will be to use Searchlight’s tech to build new AI products for Multiverse to expand its professional training services.
After that, the plan will be to wind down Searchlight’s recruitment services as they focus on Multiverse’s business.
Some people will use AI to speed up what they do; others will claim that AI is taking over certain jobs altogether.
“From the start, Anna and Kerry have been thoughtful about building Searchlight’s AI models to complement their vision,” Keith Rabois, who led the Series A, said in a statement provided to TechCrunch.
