Earlier this month, Waymo began mapping Washington, D.C., and in November 2023, the company began winter testing robotaxis in Buffalo. In March, California regulators approved Waymo to grow its commercial robotaxi service across the San Francisco peninsula and on San Francisco freeways, which unlocks a route to San Francisco International Airport. A Waymo robotaxi also hit and killed a dog in June 2023.

“Embarking on an Electric Expedition: Ford and Tesla Superchargers Unite”

Tesla Ford Charger
Less than a year ago, every automaker and EV charging company operating in the United States used the Combined Charging System (CCS). Six months later, Ford announced a deal to that would give owners of Ford EVs access to Tesla Superchargers. Within nine months every major automaker selling vehicles in the United States has agreed to the Tesla charging standard, with many committing to integrate the technology within their next-generation vehicles. Tesla owners have long enjoyed sole access to the network and newcomers may put pressure on an already popular charging network. Ford executives were quick to note in a briefing with reporters that not every Tesla Supercharger will be accessible to Ford owners.

Apple Pilots ‘Contingent Pricing’ to Retain App Store Developers in Anticipation of DMA Implementation

App Store Ios 2022
In an effort to retain developers, Apple has begun its pilot tests of “contingent pricing,” a new way for them to market App Store subscriptions, TechCrunch has learned. That’s the case with the debut pilot test of contingent pricing that pairs up two apps: Structured and one sec. (An interesting choice for the pilot, given Apple and Meta’s ongoing beef over App Tracking Transparency, which Meta said harmed its business!) With contingent pricing, customers who subscribe to one of the apps can receive a discount if subscribing to the other. Apple says it helps the developers with the implementation of contingent pricing to make the redemption process “seamless” for customers purchasing through its App Store.
