The company Wednesday issued an email requesting customers discontinue use of its egg-shaped charging case. The company says it launched an investigation following a “single complaint” of a charging issue from a customer. Humane is far from the first consumer electronics company to ship products with potentially hazardous batteries. According to the note, the Charge Case is the only Humane product affected by this news. Neither its Battery Boost or Charging Pad have been singled out by the company.

MKBHD Should Not Be Held Responsible for the Future of Humane AI and Fisker

Don’t blame MKBHD for the fate of Humane AI and Fisker Famed YouTuber Marques Brownlee makes a splash not for what he said — but for howHumane AI raised more than $230 million before it even shipped a product. “It was really hard to come up with a title for this video,” Brownlee says in the video itself, which currently has over 5 million views. The actual review was fair and balanced.”An underdog worth $800 millionCritics of MKBHD’s video are operating as though Humane AI is an underdog in the space. Global Expansion: Ai Pin Enters the International Market Through Partnership with SK Telecom in South Korea

Hyped AI startup Humane has announced plans for its first international market, inking a deal with South Korean carrier SK Telecom. The announcement comes shortly after the San Francisco-based company revealed it was pushing back the shipping date of its Ai Pin device from March to mid-April in its domestic U.S. market. The Ai Pin costs $699 up front, with a recurring $24 monthly subscription that gives the user a phone number and unlimited data to power as many AI-powered queries they like. And just yesterday, SK Telecom announced a partnership with AI search engine Perplexity to bring its premium “Pro” plan to SK Telecom’s 32 million subscribers. It’s also not yet clear when the Ai Pin might make it to market in South Korea, but given the delays currently surrounding its U.S. launch we maybe shouldn’t expect it too soon.

First-generation products from new startups are notoriously so, regardless of how much money and excitement you’ve managed to drum up. Given all that, it’s likely few are too surprised that Humane’s upcoming Ai Pin has been pushed back a bit, from March to “mid-April,” per a new video from the Bay Area startup’s Head of Media, Sam Sheffer. The Ai Pin was finally unveiled at an event in San Francisco back in early November, where we were able to spend a little controlled hands-on time with the wearable. Humane is positioning its product as the next step for a space that’s been stuck on the smartphone form factor for more than a decade. The Ai Pin is currently available for preorder at $699.
