“Introducing the All-New Password Manager App by Apple”

Passwords were available from the Settings app on your Mac or iPhone. Now, the company is introducing the Passwords app at WWDC 2024. It will be available with the next major releases of iOS, macOS and visionOS, that is iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and visionOS 2. As a reminder, iCloud Passwords already support shared passwords, verification codes and a note field for every password entry. This new app will make it easier to get started and think about using iCloud Passwords to store your sensitive information.

VisionOS 2 Unveiled by Apple

Today at its annual WorldWide Developer Conference in Cupertino, Apple announced updates to VisionOS, the operating system running on the Vision Pro. The upgraded VisionOS — VisionOS 2 — brings with it productivity enhancements and “new immersive experiences.” One lets you “spatialize” photos from regular photos, leveraging AI tech. Another is a new navigation option: VisionOS 2 lets you switch to the home screen by just tapping, or flip your hand over to bring up the control center with notifications, shortcuts and more.

Apple released VisionOS 1.1 on Thursday with the most notable feature being improved personas of users. Additionally, users can also now set up their personas without holding the device through Settings>Persona and selecting “Hands-free Capture” mode after initial steps for setup. The new version of VisionOS also introduces Mobile Device Management (MDM), for enterprises to manage their devices. This enables admins to set up devices for custom configuration, install apps at scale, and perform a remote erase of the device. “We know that in order to unlock all of [the power of the Apple Vision Pro], businesses are going to want to manage these devices at scale.
