If Brave Search isn’t your default search engine, then you need to head to search.brave.com to conduct your search. Brave announced today that it’s adding its newly-built CodeLLM to its search engine to deliver results for programming queries. The revolutionary new AI-powered CodeLLM provides code snippets with step-by-step explanations and citations to assist users in their coding journey. The best part? CodeLLM is completely free and now seamlessly integrated into Brave Search, eliminating the need to switch between apps to access this valuable resource.

Available to all Brave Search users on both desktop and mobile platforms, CodeLLM is easily accessible. In fact, for those who have set Brave Search as their default engine, a simple search in the browser’s address bar will bring up the CodeLLM tool. For those who have not yet made the switch, a visit to search.brave.com is all it takes to conduct a search and utilize the innovative CodeLLM.

“CodeLLM automatically detects programming-related queries, eliminating the need for a specialized search,” explained Brave in a recent blog post. “In addition to the search results, if an answer is available, a widget will be displayed to activate the CodeLLM response. The detection of programming queries is handled by other search components outside of CodeLLM, similar to those used for weather, summarization, stock prices, and more.”

According to Brave, the underlying technology behind CodeLLM is built on the powerful Mixtral, an LLM (large language model) that can generate code using text prompts. The addition of CodeLLM to Brave Search comes just two months after the company’s release of Leo, an AI-powered assistant available to all desktop users. Utilizing Llama 2 and Anthropic’s Claude LLMs, Leo is equipped to handle context-aware requests such as summarizing web pages or videos, translating text, and rewriting phrases. Brave also introduced a premium version of Leo for $15 per month, providing access to faster and better LLMs as well as higher-rate limits.

Since its launch two years ago, Brave Search has experienced incredible growth and currently serves an average of 25 million queries per day. The company reports that Brave Search is the default search engine for many of its over 60 million users, solidifying its position as a top competitor in the world of online search.
