New Plugins and Skills Enhance Copilot Intelligence in Microsoft’s Windows 11

Image Under Embargo Until January 4
You may not have a Copilot key on your PC’s keyboard yet, but if you’re a Windows 11 user, you’ll soon be able to use Copilot for a lot more everyday tasks on your desktop. Starting today, Microsoft is adding skills that will allow the Copilot to change more Windows 11 settings for you and plugins for services like OpenTable, Shopify and Kayak. Restaurant reservations through OpenTable, travel reservations through Kayak and a Shopify integration are surely only the start here, too. At the same time, Microsoft is now also integrating more AI features into its existing Windows apps. The second is a feature that automatically removes silence from videos in the Clipchamps video editor.

More specifically, it’s a foldable concept device from Lenovo/Motorola showcased on the floor at this year’s MWC. The company walked us through a demo of a device that’s another terrific example of its ability to get weird with design. ItHighlights that there’s absolutely zero guarantee the device will ever become a product and Points to why the company is being a bit stingy with demos. Lenovo says rollable has multiple batteries – though it won’t disclose how many. Compared to the competition, the Chinese company is fearless when it comes to getting weird with product design – something I’m fully in favor of.

“Unveiling the Mystery: OnePlus’ Three-Year Awaited Launch of a New Smartwatch”

Why OnePlus waited three years to release a new smartwatch A OnePlus exec discusses how the company is squeezing 100 hours out of the Watch 2OnePlus’ second smartwatch captured media interest this week, courtesy of its stated 100 hours of battery life. If the device does its job correctly, users won’t notice the shift, beyond the extra battery life it brings. The OnePlus Watch 2 is also notable for the three-year gap between releases. This morning, ahead of the device’s official unveiling, I sat down with Tuomas Lampen, OnePlus Europe’s head of strategy on a pair of folding chairs outside Google’s MWC booth. In terms of functionality, the first OnePlus Watch more closely resembled pre-Apple Watch smartwatches.

Something I’ve always admired about Lenovo is the way the Chinese tech giant really lets its freak flag fly. In fact, visiting the company’s booth nestled in the way, way back of Hall 3 has long been a highlight of MWC for me. This year’s big scrum gatherer was Lenovo’s long-rumored transparent laptop. Broadly speaking, it looks like a laptop, with a transparent pane where the screen should be. Lenovo loves making weird tech for weird tech’s sake, and that’s totally fine.

“Maximize Your Phone’s Potential: Utilize the Back with These Tips”

The back of your phone is useless. Sure, the cameras are back that, but what about all of that blank real estate monopolizing 90% of the surface area? The Infinix E-Color Shift improves upon Yota’s phone somewhat, by adding color to the mix. Like e-ink, however, the back panel does have the advantage of holding a static image even when the battery isn’t putting in the work. It remains to be seen whether this gets licensed by a third party or simply shows up on an Infinix device.

Google said Thursday it plans to roll out the SoundPod, its portable speaker designed to instantly validate and announce successful payments, to small merchants across India over the coming months. The Google Pay expansion in India, where the company is among the mobile payment market leaders, comes even as the firm winds down some of its payments apps in the U.S. The sound-box was invented to serve small Indian merchants unable to afford regular point-of-sale devices but accepting of UPI payments. The company said merchants who use SoundPod to process 400 payments in a month will get $1.5 in cashback. Reliance, India’s largest firm by market cap, also began testing a similar device at its campus last year, TechCrunch earlier reported.
