“Unlock the Power of 900.care: Create Your Own Waterless Personal Care Experience with Tap Water”

French startup 900.care wants to try something new. Instead of buying a new bottle of shower gel every time you need some shower gel, the startup focuses on the active ingredients. On your first order, you receive an empty, reusable plastic bottle with a pump. The next time you need more shower gel or shampoo, you only need a new stick (and some tap water). In addition to shampoo and shower gel, 900.care also sells foaming hand soap, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher tablets, as well as a few other products.

Here’s a new take on the personal care industry that will change the way you think about traditional products. Think beyond the bottles.

When you purchase a bottle of shampoo or shower gel, have you ever stopped to consider what the main ingredient is? Surprisingly, it’s mostly water – and mixed with a few other active ingredients. But have you also thought about the plastic bottle that it comes in? And the amount of resources used to transport those products to your bathroom?

But what if there was a better, more sustainable way to care for ourselves?

The 900.care Approach

Focused on innovation and sustainability, French startup 900.care is revolutionizing the personal care industry. Instead of following the traditional model of pre-mixed products packaged in plastic bottles, 900.care is reimagining the role of personal care items by prioritizing active ingredients over packaging.

On your initial order, you will receive a durable, reusable plastic bottle with a convenient pump. Rather than purchasing a new bottle every time you run out of shower gel or shampoo, 900.care offers compacted powder sticks that are easy to use. Simply add water to your bottle and mix with the powder stick, resulting in a product that is ready for use in just a few hours.

Co-founder and CEO Aymeric Grange explains, “You still get all the benefits of traditional personal care products – lather, texture, fragrance, etc. – but without the harmful impact on the environment. No plastic, no excess water.”

“We wanted to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional personal care products. Our goal is to prioritize both the consumer’s well-being and the planet’s well-being.”

Investing in the Future

The success of 900.care has not gone unnoticed – the startup recently secured a €21 million funding round ($23 million at current exchange rates). Leading the way is Lombard Odier Investment Managers, with continued support from existing investors White Star Capital, Swen Blue Ocean, and Founders Future.

Adopting the direct-to-consumer approach, 900.care products can only be purchased through their website. And as personal care items are a necessity, 900.care has incorporated a subscription model to make it easy for customers to restock regularly.

More Than Just Shampoo and Shower Gel

900.care’s commitment to a sustainable future goes beyond just shampoo and shower gel. The company also offers a range of other products, including foaming hand soap, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher tablets, and more. So far, 900.care estimates that they have helped prevent the equivalent of 3.5 million plastic bottles from becoming waste.

“It’s not just about the products themselves, but also the way they are produced and shipped. Our compacted powder sticks can easily be sent in a standard envelope, significantly reducing shipping costs and carbon emissions,” explains Grange.

900.care has also built a specific factory in Saint-Etienne, France, dedicated to producing their innovative products. This new factory, operated by a partner, has been specifically designed to meet the unique needs of 900.care and has greatly improved the company’s margins.

The startup is now setting its sights on expanding beyond its home country, with plans to enter other European markets. “Our ultimate goal is to reach €100 million in revenue within the next three years. And with our expansion to other countries, we are confident we can achieve this while remaining profitable,” says Grange.

Join the movement and make a sustainable change in your personal care routine with 900.care. Say goodbye to excess water and plastic bottles, and hello to a better future for both you and the environment.
